Believe in His Prophets and succeed

2 Chronicles 20:20 So they got up early in the morning and went out into the Wilderness of Tekoa; and as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe and trust in the LORD your God and you will be established (secure). Believe and trust in His prophets and succeed.”

Faith is indeed the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things unseen. It emanates from that which God speaks to inform and order our lives through the different seasons of this life and the one to come. He calls things that are not as though they are.

One of my favourite scriptures is Genesis 12, when God calls Abram out of his father's house, his country, and his people, into what at the time seemed like great uncertainty. We see how Abram grapples with what God is calling him to until he not only sees the land and the son promised but also perceives and seeks for a city with foundations whose builder and maker is God.

If we want to be established in life, it is important that we believe in God and what he promises. Furthermore, because God speaks to us through His prophets, it is important that once we have tested and tried what they proclaim, we believe and trust their word as a sure word from the Lord. Prophetic words help us with positioning ourselves during certain periods of time and being found positioned well often delineates opportunities for success and failure.

Think of the many examples of how people escaped disaster by simply allowing the word of God spoken through His prophets to position them right. Nineveh averts the wrath of God; Joshua and Caleb are saved from judgment and see the promised land; while the wise men get to see the reality of that which was prophesied ages before. There are many other examples, and these are sufficient for the purpose of this blog.

We are entering a season where the sons of God should arise and shine, even as the glory of the Lord rises upon us. It, therefore, is important that we believe what God speaks to us through His servants so that we may be established and succeed. Let us, therefore endeavor to not only hear His word but allow it to lead us and position us well.

Grace to you all
